I am a mother of two children, and a grandmother to 4 grandsons. I retired after 36 years from a job that I loved. I was a Grants Administrator for the Division of Outdoor Recreation and have helped provide outdoor recreation to over 600 sites throughout the state of Louisiana. At age 50 I went through that “mid-life crisis” and bought a motorcycle, which was both an exciting and terrifying thing since I had never been on one and didn’t know anyone that had one. Needless to say, I have enjoyed it so much that I am on my third bike, a Harley Heritage Softtail Classis, and love it. I especially like long trips where you can see the country, there’s nothing like it.
I am involved in the biking community through several riding clubs. I belong to the Louisiana Lady Cruisers, Baton Rouge Harley Owners Group (HOG), and the Southern Cruisers. I also have the honor to participate as a Patriot Guard Rider.
I am a Board Member of the Motorcycle Awareness Champaign (MAC) which is an organization whose objective is to promote motorcycle awareness and safety of motorcyclists on our roadways.
I do enjoy other things besides bike riding, like photography, reading, dancing, travel, and scrap booking.

What do I like most about riding a motorcycle: My motorcycle allows me to see the world differently...smells, sights, sounds, etc that are omitted when in a vehicle. It allows me to unwind from my busy job. My husband & I ride a lot together and it's a great way for us to connect...different bikes but still together. It's been a confidence builder as well.

What I like most about motorcycling: The variety of people I have met. Some of my dearest friends are those on two wheels. If it were not for this sport I would never have met most of these fine ladies and gentlemen that I am lucky enough to call my friends.
Favorite experience on a motorcycle...completing Deal's Gap (Dragon's Tale) in North Carolina.
Least favorite experience related to motorcycling...had a long conversation at a lady's retreat and then, when I mentioned that I rode a motorcycle, the lady I was talking to looked at me and said, "Oh. And here I was thinking you were a nice girl". She then got up and walked off! Just as well, I think our conversation was pretty much finished at that point.

What do I like most about riding a motorcycle: For me, it's just one more adventure and another opportunity to see new places and meet new people who enjoy the same things that I enjoy. I love being part of a group, forming new life long friendships, and clocking as many miles as my backside and pocket book can handle. As my clocked miles tell you, I LOVE RIDING and don’t particularly care where to, as long as I’m riding…. Either solo or group riding, the bigger the group the better! Even though my grown children thought I was having A MID-LIFE CRISIS, I wasn’t…. but I have surprised even myself and I’m only sorry that I didn’t start 10 years earlier, who knows how many miles I would have accumulated!
